Job Description

Core Purpose



Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Bottling Engineer will carry out all engineering activities processed and developed within the Work Management process. The work will include proactive, preventive and predictive maintenance inspections. Remedial and corrective work identified following inspection, breakdown and repair work resulting from unplanned failure. Ensuring work is completed safely according to company and legislative standards, to the required quality and workmanship in the time allotted maintaining all Glen Turner assets to the best possible standards, always ensuring maximum availability.

The person must be a good communicator, ensure a professional line is always presented, managing site expectations as appropriate in line with the business priorities.

You will be required to interact and communicate regularly with Operations and Maintenance teams working as part of a team and be flexible with working hours as required by the needs of the business.

External - Suppliers, Service Providers, Regulatory Authorities, Customers (including Prospect Customers)

Work Content (Responsibilities)



Support main Engineering operations and objectives.

Carry out all work in a hygienic manner and contribute to the hygienic condition of the site.

Provide Engineering support to Operations as per schedules. Duties include (but are not limited to): reacting promptly to breakdowns and inspection, equipment overhauls and carrying out scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance. Actively use CMMS System.

Installation and commissioning of new equipment/machinery, including PLC upgrades and programme adjustments, Drive installations including installing and updating parameter settings, HMI replacements pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves, etc.

Installing, inspecting and repairing equipment in (ATEX/DSEAR) hazardous areas.

Maintain service records for plant and equipment, including monitoring and reporting on equipment running conditions.

Contribute to incident investigations and equipment failure root cause analysis to design out issues and improve engineering practices.

Using knowledge of plant, participate in HAZOPs, MOC. SIL Assessments etc.

Coordination with Management to ensure spare parts availability and specification, active participant in obsolescence review.

Successfully complete all necessary training (job competency, SHE and regulatory).

Meet company targets and help drive continuous improvement in operational efficiencies and SHE.

Complete all administrative and data collection tasks as required.

Carry out all work in a hygienic manner and contribute to the hygienic condition of the site.

Contribute to SOP development.

Provide shift/out of hours plant support as required.

Experience



Essential



Prior working experience in FMCG.

Experience of all types of motors, pumps, conveyors, control equipment, plc knowledge (Siemens S7-200 and 1200) sensors etc.

Experience of working as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer within a COMAH or high-risk facility

Have completed a recognised 4-year apprenticeship.

Working in Flammable atmospheres (ATEX/DSEAR)

IEC61508/61511 working knowledge

PAT testing

Thermographic surveys

IPAF Certificate

Education



Essential



Minimum HNC in Electrical/Maintenance discipline or time served apprenticeship.

Modern electrical/mechanical engineering practices
