An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the existing Brain Attack Team (BATeam) within the Stroke Service at LTHT. Experience in stroke nursing is not essential, but a willingness to learn and to act FAST is.



We admit over 1,300 strokes a year to our hyperacute stroke unit and offer a challenging and dynamic clinical learning environment dealing with a wide range of stroke patients, TIAs and mimics. This includes thrombolysis, thrombectomy and management of primary intracerebral haemorrhage as well as the delivery of a regional thrombectomy service for West Yorkshire. You should be motivated, keen to learn and ready to embrace change; our commitment to you, as forward thinking team, will be individualised clinical development, access to monthly teachings ensuring you have every opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in stroke. We are able to offer a range of education and development opportunities, including in-house training and external courses.



You will be expected to participate in audits & research to help develop and shape the future of stroke care in Leeds and the UK. You will be part of a busy multi-disciplinary team who are dedicated in providing individualised, evidence based stroke care management. The post holder will be expected to work both autonomously and closely with stroke clinicians and across a range of specialities in order to meet the needs of the service.
