Brain Injury Support Worker - Part-Time (with potential to increase)
Location: Hull
Hours: 8 hours per week, with scope to increase to align with client's wife's work shifts
Pay: 15.40 per hour
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive
Brain Injury Support Worker
to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding role where you'll make a real difference to a family's daily life, supporting a client to live as independently and fully as possible.
About the Role
In this role, you'll be supporting our client, a family man in his 50s who sustained a brain injury following a workplace accident. He experiences some physical challenges, including weakness in his right arm and leg, mild epilepsy, vertigo, tinnitus, and intermittent hearing loss.
Despite these challenges, he is determined to continue enjoying the things he loves -- especially football and rugby, which he shares with his daughter. We're seeking someone who shares this enthusiasm for sport and who can bring energy, empathy, and encouragement.
The family home is also shared with a friendly Labrador, so you'll need to be comfortable around large dogs.
Key Responsibilities
Providing person-centred care and support with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation
Administering medication and monitoring health needs
Supporting the client to remain active and engaged in the community, including football matches, rugby training, and therapy sessions
Offering companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
Working closely with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes
What We're Looking For
Previous care experience (brain injury experience desirable but not essential)
A genuine interest in sport -- especially football and rugby
Excellent communication skills and a caring, positive approach
Confidence working independently as well as part of a team
A full UK driving licence (you will be required to drive the client's car)
Flexibility to work the agreed hours
What We Offer
Competitive pay at
15.40 per hour
DBS paid for by us
Excellent training and professional development opportunities
Supportive and friendly working environment
Blue Light Card eligibility
