Cerebral Palsy Support Worker - Paediatric Complex Needs | Watford, Hertfordshire

Location:

Watford, Hertfordshire

Hours:

+ Weekdays: 6-hour shifts (after school)
+ Weekends: 8am-8pm

Pay:

+ Weekdays: 15.70/hour
+ Weekends: 16.75/hour


Are you an experienced Support Worker, Care Assistant, or Healthcare Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in a child's life? We're hiring compassionate professionals to provide specialist care for an 8-year-old boy with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and a brain injury in Watford.

Full UK driving licence required.

About the Client

Our client is a bright and active 8-year-old boy who sustained a brain injury at birth. He experiences complex epilepsy, which can lead to coma following seizures, so experience in seizure management is essential. He lives in a busy family home with his parents and younger brother, who has severe autism.

Key Responsibilities

+ Deliver person-centred care and emotional support
+ Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
+ Administer medication and monitor health conditions
+ Support community outings and activities
+ Maintain accurate care records and report changes
+ Collaborate with family and healthcare professionals

Ideal Candidate Profile

+ Previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, or Childcare Worker
+ Experience supporting individuals with brain injuries, epilepsy, and challenging behaviours
+ Confident working in a busy household with children
+ Energetic, empathetic, and upbeat personality
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills
+ Awareness of accessibility needs (e.g. wheelchair-friendly routes and venues)
+ Flexible and reliable
+ Full UK driving licence
