Having a good standard of education including maths and English, a good telephone manner and proven experience of working within a similar environment you will have a professional, first-class customer first approach with the ability to confidently work both well in a team and using your own initiative. You will need to be able to multitask (picking stock, taking phone calls, replying to emails) and be able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
The main duties of the role include:
Keeping up to date with all company products, training, sales initiatives, and promotions to effectively pass this information onto the customer
Developing detailed knowledge and understanding of the FSW product portfolio to be able to confidently advise the customer of the best product to meet their requirements
Accurately processing/picking and packing order requests for all stock items ready for customer collection and/or ensure stock is loaded onto vehicles to ensure the product(s) is delivered on time
Building excellent working relationships, liaising professionally with colleagues, customers, and suppliers in person, by telephone and by email
Ensuring all customer requests, orders, and complaints are dealt with in an effective, accurate and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction
Preparing the branch trade counter and customer area to ensure the area is fully stocked, clean and tidy and presents the products in an effective way
Serving the customers at the trade counter in line with company requirements and standards
Raising sales quotations for the customer at the most competitive price from preferred suppliers and providing the necessary follow up call to complete the order
Effectively sourcing and ordering non-stocked items from other branches within the FSW Ltd Group or via the Purchasing Department
Ensuring stock levels are maintained to the prescribed levels for the branch and ensuring that the stock inventory is always correct. Actively participate in stock take activities throughout the year
Ensuring all returned products (including those under warranty) are dealt with promptly and in line with the warrant returns policy
Ensuring all branch administration e.g., filing, customer and Health and Safety records are kept in an ordered way and in line with company guidelines
Always maintaining a clean and safe environment, complying with all health and safety requirements including, but not limited to, wearing PPE at all times (PPE is provided)
Handling fragile packages and parcels with care and adhering to manual handling regulations - some heavy lifting e.g., of gas cylinders is a requirement of the role
Taking delivery of goods for unloading, sorting, stacking and storage process/pick order requests for all stock items for a customer collection and /or delivery from the warehouse
Dealing with stock returned to the branch, including warranty claims and faulty parts
Liaising with the inhouse Returns Team and portal system - training will be provided
Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean and tidy to always ensure a safe working environment
Assisting in other warehouse functions and processes where required, including undertaking driver duties if required,
Therefore, a full UK driving licence is a requirement of this role
Whilst on driving duties, complying with health and safety requirements, ensuring your vehicle is loaded safely, is roadworthy before every journey through daily vehicle checks, reporting all vehicle defects to the Line Manager as appropriate for your branch and completing trip logs
Driving safely, following all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and tidy
Keeping accurate records of deliveries and customer authorisation and ensuring all documentation is submitted to management on time
It would be an advantage if you had a Forklift Truck Licence, however, training can be provided.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in the Company Out of Hours Standby Service on a rostered basis, which includes cover over Bank and Statutory Days Holiday.
