Main Purpose of the Job:



We are a long-established, family-run independent builders' merchant with a proud reputation for excellent customer service, deep industry knowledge, and quality materials.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Branch Manager to lead our team, run daily operations, and help grow the business. You'll be responsible for everything from managing staff and stock to driving sales and ensuring excellent customer service.

As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and profitable running of the branch. You'll manage a dedicated team and ensure our customers receive outstanding service, whether they're seasoned trade professionals or local DIYers.

Part of the role involves the management of the fleet of vehicles at the branch, ensuring compliance standards are met whilst maximising the profitability of those vehicles. This diverse role also includes the management of Loft Sales Office and Vehicles which adds an exciting dynamic to the role and further enhances the capabilities of the branch.

We expect our branch managers to lead by example with a Hands-On approach, whilst also delegating and developing their staff effectively. You will oversee stock management, staff supervision, health and safety compliance, and business development - always reflecting our core values of trust, teamwork, and excellent service.

Key Responsibilities



? Lead, motivate, and develop the branch team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.

? Oversee all daily branch operations, including stock control, deliveries, customer service, and administrative duties.

? Build strong relationships with local trade customers, suppliers, and the wider community.

? Manage branch performance, including sales, costs, margins, and profitability.

? Ensure the branch complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.

? Work closely with directors to develop and implement local marketing and business growth strategies.

? Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability.

? Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and effectively.

? Maintain high standards of housekeeping and presentation throughout the branch.

Experience and Skill Set Required for the Role



? Previous experience in a similar role within a builder's merchant or construction-related environment is essential.

? Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing team members.

? Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

? Good commercial awareness and understanding of the builders' merchant sector.

? Confident decision-maker with solid problem-solving skills.

? Competent IT skills (experience with merchant systems or Intact IQ software is a plus).

? Forklift license desirable (but not essential).

Salary Dependant on Experience

Pay: From 60,000.00 per year
