Job Description

FGF Limited is a growing independent building materials supplier, such as Insulation, Facades, Engineering materials etc, to support our continued growth, we're seeking branch operatives for our busy Birmingham Depot.

Summary



As a Branch Operative, you will be a vital part of our team, specializing in fabricating high value Facade materials. Your premium skills in operating of machinery, and experience will be essential in ensuring efficient works operations. Additionally, your relevant skills in operating a Schelling Saw/CNC, bonding, use of Beamsaw/Panel Saw, organizational, construction, heavy lifting, load & unload tasks will contribute to the smooth functioning of our branch. Reporting to the Line Manager, you will be responsible for handling materials, organizing paperwork and following procedures. Purpose of the Role:



To operate company machinery in line with company procedures (machines listed below) To manufacture and fabricate high value materials and follow company procedures. To manufacture and fabricate all other kinds of materials ranging from Rockwool to Fire Protection Boards. To bond material together and have an idea of using a spray gun in the correct way and being able to keep it well maintained. To fabricate transit panels alongside company procedures. To follow the company's Quality Control Procedures. To understand and follow instructions on Job Cards and Pick Notes and Magi-cuts. To complete associated paperwork in line with company procedures To maintain plant machinery and local workstations To meet deadlines that have been set via your line manager. To assist in other areas of the works department To follow and understand the health & Safety procedures. Completing mandatory checklists in relation to Health & Safety

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):



To ensure you have been trained and signed off to operate plant machinery before using it and it is safe to use before operating it. To operate the Schelling, Robland, Panelsaw, Mayor, CNC, and Bonding Station. To keep up to date with manufacturer fabrication guidelines. To ensure all basic maintenance is carried out on plant machinery. To ensure all job cards, magi-cuts and drawings are read and understood before any work processes are undertaken and any queries to be reported to your line manager or supervisor. All training will be provided. To ensure all materials to be fabricated, bonded or worked on should correspond with your job card or only to be used if given permission by your line manager. To undertake daily FLT checks and report any defects directly to your line manager or supervisor if applicable. To report any shortages or damages directly to your line manager. To ensure company quality control processes are adhered to. General housekeeping - maintaining the working environment to keep it clean and tidy. Completing mandatory checklists in relation to the work place (FLT's, Fire Exits and Walkways, machinery H&S, maintenance & cleanliness etc.). To ensure all loads to be carried are securely and safely restrained (may include use of securing straps, shrink wrap, cardboard protectors etc.) so that it does not fail or cause a hazard to oneself or others. Maintain branch hygiene including cleaning up spillages, removing pallets and boxes, etc. Liaising with the management team ensuring the smooth operation of the branch. To escalate all risks/relevant queries to your line manager or supervisor. Compliance with all H&S rules and procedures. To use and wear correct PPE and work uniform at all times. Within the roll you will be working with Rockwool, adhesives and dusty material, uniform and overalls will be provided.

Health and Safety Responsibilities



Report direct to line manager any Health & Safety issues. Being responsible for your own safety. Complete Daily Checklist to ensure smooth running of machinery.

Qualifications



Good Organizational Skills Be literate and numeric Be able to work in a fast paced environment. Forklift License - desirable but not essential Background in Operating Machinery such as a Schelling Saw, Mayor, Robland and Altendorf, desirable but not essential. Knowledge or experience in using a 3 Axis CNC. Machines on site are; Biesse Rover K CNC, Biesse Klever 22 36GFT CNC, Rover C6.50 CNC. - desirable but not essential Knowledge or Experience in using Alphacam. - desirable but not essential Knowledge of B-Solid - desirable but not essential Ability to Understand Technical Drawings - desirable but not essential

Working Hours



Monday - Thursday 07.00 - 15.30pm

Friday 07.00 - 14.30pm

Working Environment



Located in Birmingham, the depot has a warehouse, office accommodation, a vehicle yard and car park. The warehouse department functions 5 days per week. Operating loading/unloading vehicles, order picking and packing for delivery Throughout The Midlands, London & South East and East Anglia and beyond. The warehouse is 60,000ft2 and consists of 3 Schelling Saws, 1 Mayor, 3 Biesse CNC's (Rover K, Klever 2236GFT and Rover C6.50), a Bonding Station, an Altendorf and a Robland. There are toilets, changing rooms and canteens on site and we are nicely located within walking distance to Ravenside Retail Park.

Wage is negotiable dependent on experience.
