Job Description

The Branch Marketing Executive will be essential in boosting and strengthening the local marketing presence throughout Burton Roofing Merchants 37 branches. The role involves working closely with branch teams to understand customer needs, managing social media content, updating branch website pages, supporting supplier and trade day initiatives, and identifying promotional opportunities at the branch level. This hybrid, field-based role is ideal for a proactive marketer with strong interpersonal skills, a comprehensive understanding of B2B trade customers (mainly male, aged 50+), and a dedication to making a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities



Branch Engagement



Conduct daily engagements with assigned branches (through in-person visits, phone calls, or WhatsApp groups) to understand customer preferences, product interests, and marketing gaps. Build rapport and trust with branch managers and teams, serving as the local marketing liaison to Head Office. Collect monthly feedback through surveys (e.g., Google Forms) to inform campaign planning.

Social Media Management



Create and publish engaging, localised content (at least two posts per week for each active branch) across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Take photos and videos of branches during visits to help create authentic, real-time posts. Monitor and report on engagement (likes, comments, shares) using Meta Business Suite and Hootsuite, aiming for 2-3% engagement per post. Assist in planning themes for national campaigns and seasonal content.

Website & Digital Content



Ensure the Burton Roofing website's branch pages are accurate and current (e.g., products, events, opening hours). Utilise CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) to update digital listings. Arrange QR code promotions to monitor branch engagement.

Local Promotions & Events



Identify and implement local marketing activities, such as, hosting trade events, providing giveaways, or collaborating with local charities and organisations. Organise and support in-branch trade days, open houses, and community events. Coordinate event logistics: banners, flyers, signage, catering, and post-event surveys.

Supplier Campaigns



Work with suppliers to localise national campaigns. Ensure branches obtain campaign collateral, updates, and briefings. Support POS (point-of-sale) material distribution and promotional activities.

Corporate Hospitality & Sponsorship



Assist in organising corporate events like golf days and match sponsorships. Promote activities through social media and share post-event content.

Reporting & Collaboration



Attend strategy meetings with the Head of Marketing and branch leadership. Submit monthly reports on social media insights, local achievements, and recommended improvements. Assist in expanding campaign rollouts and seasonal initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills



Experience:

3-7 years' experience in the field or regional marketing, ideally within the construction, building products, or B2B trade sector.

Marketing Skills:

Confident content creator: photography, captions, and basic video editing. Proficient in social media tools: Meta Business Suite, Canva, Hootsuite. Basic experience with CMS for website editing. Having knowledge of AI content tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly) is advantageous.

People Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Capable of working independently and handling diverse daily interactions.

Working Conditions
