Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient utilisation of resources
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
Monitor food safety procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
Collaborate with the management team to develop new menus and optimise existing offerings
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to hygiene standards
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste effectively
Assist in training new team members in food production, preparation, and service standards
Skills
Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong leadership and team management skills with supervising experience
Expertise in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with team members and management
Knowledge of restaurant operations including serving procedures is advantageous
