Job Summary

Deco Restaurant & Cafe at Saltdean Lido are seeking a dedicated and skilled Breakfast Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As an experienced Chef you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the standards of our kitchen. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The Role is primarily Day shifts, with some early morning starts and occasional later finishes assisting with events.

Duties

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area. Assist in supervising kitchen staff and coordinating daily tasks. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols. Contribute to menu planning and development by providing input on seasonal dishes.

Requirements

Proven experience as a chef in a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork within the kitchen. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
