We are seeking a dedicated and skilled line cook to head up our new breakfast venture to join our dynamic culinary team. 30 hours per week, 7am - 15:00. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring food safety standards are maintained at all times. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for food production and hospitality, looking to develop their culinary skills and take on leadership responsibilities within a reputable establishment. The position is paid and suitable for those with previous kitchen experience or a background in food service.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to specified recipes and standards
Assist in food presentation and ensure dishes are served promptly and attractively
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment
Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards diligently
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance on food preparation and safety procedures
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies when necessary
Support the training of new team members in food preparation and safety practices
Qualifications
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment or hospitality setting
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
Supervising experience or leadership qualities are highly desirable
Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Previous restaurant or culinary experience is preferred but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to learn
