Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards Supervise kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and managing team members to ensure efficient workflow Oversee food production processes to maintain consistency, quality, and safety standards Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and menu offerings Develop new menu items in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences Monitor food safety practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies

Skills

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings with a focus on customer satisfaction Ability to organise workload efficiently under pressure during busy service periods Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and suppliers Creativity in developing innovative dishes while maintaining consistency and quality standards
