We are seeking a talented and passionate Breakfast Chef to join our culinary team at the brand new 1988 bar & kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure efficient food production
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to menu specifications
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
Manage food inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service
Create new menu items and specials that reflect seasonal ingredients
Monitor food costs and assist in budgeting for kitchen operations
Skills
Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
Excellent cooking skills with a focus on food preparation techniques
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production
Previous experience in hospitality is an advantage
Effective communication skills for collaborating with staff and management
