We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic

Breakfast Chef

to join our team at Crowne Plaza Hotel, ensuring guests start their day with a delightful breakfast experience. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast dishes, managing morning kitchen operations, and maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

Breakfast Service Preparation:

Prepare, cook, and present a variety of breakfast dishes (buffet and a la carte), ensuring consistency and quality in line with Crowne Plaza standards. Set up the breakfast buffet, including hot and cold stations, ensuring all items are replenished in a timely manner.

Operational Management:

Oversee all morning kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency during busy breakfast hours. Manage food stock levels, ensuring freshness and minimising waste.

Food Safety and Hygiene:

Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas at all times. Conduct regular checks on food storage and preparation areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Menu Development and Feedback:

Collaborate with the Head Chef to introduce seasonal and innovative breakfast options. Take guest feedback into account to continuously enhance the breakfast offerings.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service. Assist in training junior kitchen staff, if required, on breakfast preparation and service standards.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all dishes meet the Crowne Plaza's brand standards for presentation and taste. Monitor portion control and presentation to maintain consistency.

Key Requirements

Experience:

Proven experience as a Breakfast Chef or similar role, ideally within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment. Strong knowledge of breakfast preparation, including continental, English, and other international styles.

Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks during busy service hours. Excellent cooking skills with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Good organisational and time management abilities.

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent (preferred). Food Safety Level 2 Certificate is mandatory.

Personal Attributes:

Proactive, positive attitude with a passion for food. Team player with excellent communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
