We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment while contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to the chef's specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Support senior chefs in food production tasks, including cooking, plating, and garnishing. Help manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for menu development and improvement. Supervise junior kitchen staff as needed, providing guidance and support in their tasks. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Skills

Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within a restaurant setting is advantageous. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment. Leadership qualities to assist in supervising team members effectively. A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 11.50-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
