Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Breakfast/Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and hospitality, demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field. As a Breakfast/Commis Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation while adhering to food safety regulations.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, ensuring freshness and quality. Support chefs in cooking and plating meals according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations and storage areas. Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods. Participate in menu planning and development alongside senior kitchen staff. Assist in training new kitchen staff, sharing knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety practices. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, with a strong understanding of food production processes. Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous. A solid foundation in culinary techniques, including cooking and food preparation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the hospitality industry. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting. Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and management. Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
