Sandy Cove North Devon Hotel is located next to the stunning & secluded Broadsands Beach and within a short drive from other amazing beaches of the Atlantic coastline. With ever changing seasons there is always a great reason for guests to visit Sandy Cove, ensuring our team are busy all year round.

With our 3 Rosette, Michelin & Trencherman's guide recommended Seacliff restaurant, or our more family-oriented dining option of the Cove restaurant, the expectations and standards we set ourselves are high - can you match them? Alongside with arguably, North Devon's best wedding venue, our stunning indoor pool, leisure facilities and 38 en-suite bedrooms, many of which have a stunning sea view, we're looking for team members who will add to the Sandy Cove magic and reflect the 4status that our guests have rightly come to expect.
Hours: This is an hourly paid role that offers flexibility to suit all parties (25-40hrs pw). They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day so want you to deliver excellence with every Full English, Eggs Benedict etc! We host weddings and events up to 7 days a week in the summer months, the successful candidate will be expected to work 5 days from 7, including most Bank Holidays so a flexible and committed individual is required. You'll be working mainly weekends and day shifts, but not all of them as we want you to have a social life too! Let's talk about how we can make this work for both of us!

Breakfast/Prep Chef



Report to: Sous & Head Chef



We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual who is an excellent communicator and real people person. Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly on your shift and as well as handing over to your colleagues once you've finished. Delivering quality of service and food in a safe, friendly and legal environment is critical. A solid knowledge of the food industry, a good understanding of ingredients and techniques in the trade and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment is all second nature to you; and you can demonstrate this to us!

Customer service is as integral to you as it is to us, leading by example, your attitude to food quality, care and presentation will shine through as will your approach to kitchen hygiene and management. You will need to have a keen eye for detail and an engaging manor with an ability to implement company standards. We are looking for an individual who has ability to work well in a team but equally confident to work effectively on their own in sometimes high-pressured problem-solving situations.

The applicant will be able to easily demonstrate appropriate examples of their operational experience within good quality kitchen environments. Experience in a high volume, freshly cooked to order breakfast environment would be ideal as would the ability to focus on food preparation after the breakfast shift has finished.

About You



Experienced and confidant chef, who ideally holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent. We can assist with this for the right candidate.

. Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.

Ability to adapt approach to changing circumstances.

Proactive approach - can see what needs to be done and does it!

Strong organisational skills - multi tasking and organising yourself to be able to prioritise work effectively.

Good communication skills - written and verbal

Flexible and able to work weekends as the role involves significant weekend working.

Pay: From 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
