To deliver high-quality, work-based training and support to apprentices undertaking Bricklaying Apprenticeships. You will help learners develop the practical skills, technical knowledge, and professional behaviours required to meet the apprenticeship standards and succeed in their careers within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions -- both in the training centre and on employers' worksites -- to develop apprentices' bricklaying skills and understanding.
Plan, prepare, and adapt learning materials and schemes of work that meet apprenticeship standard requirements.
Support apprentices in building practical competence in tasks such as walling, blockwork, cavity construction, setting out, jointing, and finishing.
Conduct workplace observations and skills assessments to ensure apprentices meet competency standards.
Provide clear and constructive feedback to help learners achieve their full potential.
Track and record apprentice progress, attendance, and assessment evidence using internal systems.
Liaise closely with employers to coordinate training delivery, review progress, and ensure the apprenticeship aligns with business needs.
Ensure compliance with all awarding body, EPA (End Point Assessment), and Ofsted requirements.
Maintain safe workshop environments and promote good health and safety practices at all times.
Contribute to internal standardisation and quality improvement activities.
Act as a mentor and role model, promoting positive attitudes, professional conduct, and employability skills.
Essential Requirements
Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in Bricklaying.
Significant occupational experience within the construction/bricklaying trade.
Recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. AET, PTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent) -- or willingness to achieve this within an agreed timeframe.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in planning, assessing, and recording learner
