We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring brickwork structures with precision and professionalism. The Brick Mason will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure that all work meets safety standards and client specifications.
Duties
Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to detailed plans and specifications.
Prepare surfaces and foundations prior to laying bricks, ensuring stability and accuracy.
Mix mortar and other materials to appropriate consistency for various masonry tasks.
Use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and hammers to execute precise brickwork.
Operate power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively.
Assist with the installation of structural elements like lintels, arches, and facades.
Carry out repairs or restoration work on existing brick structures as required.
Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, welders, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related construction trades.
Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and hammers.
Ability to operate power tools safely for cutting, grinding, or drilling materials.
Strong knowledge of masonry techniques including bricklaying and stone setting.
Familiarity with carpentry skills that support structural framing or formwork tasks.
Experience with roofing or welding is advantageous for specialised project requirements.
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure accurate alignment and finishing of brickwork.
