skilled Bricklayer
to join our professional team and contribute to residential and commercial development projects across the Midlands.
Duties
As a Bricklayer, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining brick, block and stone structures. Your key duties will include:
Laying bricks, blocks, and pre-cut stone to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, chimney stacks, and other brickwork structures.
Measuring out and setting out the site to ensure accuracy of lines, levels and dimensions.
Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer and applying it evenly to joints.
Cutting and shaping bricks, blocks or stones to fit corners, arches, openings and junctions.
Repairing and refurbishing existing brickwork, paving, and masonry structures.
Working in line with drawings, specifications and plans provided by site supervisors or clients.
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and complies with health and safety standards.
Assisting in energy-efficiency and retrofit building projects as part of a wider construction team.
Experience
Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is highly desirable
Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment
Knowledge of construction safety procedures and regulations
Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Experience with related skills such as carpentry, roofing, or welding is advantageous but not essential
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and quality workmanship
