We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bricklayer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining brickwork structures with precision and craftsmanship. The Brick Mason will play a vital part in delivering durable and aesthetically pleasing structures that meet client specifications.
Duties
Lay bricks, blocks, and stones using appropriate hand tools and techniques to construct walls, facades, arches, and other masonry features.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, chipping, or applying mortar as needed to ensure proper adhesion.
Measure and mark out work areas accurately according to project plans and specifications.
Mix mortar or concrete using power tools or manual methods to achieve the correct consistency.
Use a variety of power tools such as grinders, drills, and saws to cut and shape materials precisely.
Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, welders, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks effectively on-site.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Assist in the maintenance of scaffolding and ladders required for elevated work areas.
Ensure all work is completed within specified timeframes whilst maintaining high quality standards.
Skills
Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related construction trades.
Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels.
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively for cutting, grinding, or drilling materials.
Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques including bonding patterns and mortar mixing.
Basic carpentry skills beneficial for framing or structural support tasks.
Familiarity with roofing components or welding may be advantageous for specialised projects.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and alignment.
