Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team, responsible for constructing and repairing structures made of brick, block, and other masonry materials. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of masonry techniques and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Duties

Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials according to specifications and design plans. Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools. Mix mortar and other bonding agents to ensure strong adhesion between materials. Construct walls, arches, and other structures with attention to structural integrity. Repair existing masonry structures by replacing damaged bricks or blocks. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and roofers on various projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Perform welding tasks as required for specific projects.

Qualifications

Proven experience in bricklaying and masonry work is essential. Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels is required. Familiarity with power tools including saws and mixers is advantageous. Knowledge of carpentry techniques is beneficial for integrated construction tasks. Experience in roofing may be an asset for certain projects. Welding skills are a plus for completing specialised tasks within masonry projects. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
