Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, stone, and other materials. The successful applicant will demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to specifications and blueprints. Construct walls, arches, and other structures using appropriate techniques. Mix mortar and other bonding agents to ensure proper adhesion. Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively. Perform repairs on existing brickwork and masonry structures. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and roofers, to complete projects efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations. Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality.

Qualifications

Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools related to masonry work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of welding techniques is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials as required. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
