Job Description
Job Purpose:
To carry out high-quality brick and blockwork construction for below-ground foundations, retaining walls, and structural masonry associated with residential basements, extensions, and groundworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Lay bricks and blocks for strip footings, trench fills, and retaining walls per structural drawings and tolerances. Set out and level trenches using laser or dumpy level. Construct reinforced retaining walls with proper formwork, ties, and bond patterns. Mix and apply mortar to specified strength (M6 or F6). Cut bricks/blocks to fit around services and into irregular profiles. Work with groundworkers, site supervisors, and engineers to complete work safely and efficiently. Follow health and safety protocols including confined space, PPE use, and manual handling. Keep work areas clean and maintain tools and equipment. Inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards

Pay: 14.50-22.00 per hour
