Job Description

We currently have an opening for a bricklayer/groundworker involving a combination of groundwork and bricklaying duties. In this dual role, you would be responsible for the initial site preparation, such as excavation, concrete and drainage, and the later stages of constructing walls, driveways, and paths. It would also involve building of block, brick and stone, You will interpret designs, ensure safety protocols are followed, and work with a variety of construction trades. Must be reliable, hardworking and good timekeeper.

Groundworker duties

Site clearance and preparation Digging trenches for foundations and drainage Installing drainage and pipework Laying kerbs, block paviours, driveways, and pavements Setting reinforcement, mass & trench fill concrete, general concreting and reinforced & shuttered concrete placement Site setup Operating machinery such as but not limited to, excavators and dumper trucks Following health and safety procedures

Bricklayer duties

Laying brick (common, engineering & facing), blocks, and pre-cut stone Working with mortar to build walls and structures Ensuring all work is to the required specifications and quality

Qualifications and skills

Driving licence essential Experience with a range of construction tasks is beneficial. The ability to read and interpret drawings, levels and specifications is advantageous Certificates for machines beneficial but not essential
