Bridies Takeaway is a Derry/Londonderry based Fish & Chip shop that has catered to the local community for more than 60 years. We have served the Rossdowney community for over two decades, and are now looking for someone to join our management team and help continue to drive the business in the right direction. This is a perfect opportunity for someone working a similar role within the industry who is looking to take the next step or a new step in the catering sector.

Overview:



As a Supervisor for Bridies Takeaway Rossdowney, you will work alongside current management to cohesively run the day-to-day operations within the premises. Ranging from stock control, to staff management, and service quality control. You will be using your experience and knowledge in the field to drive returning customers to our store through a consistent and quality service. Your success will strengthen our customer base through customer satisfaction - while simultaneously crafting your skills in a management position.

The Candidate will firstly work closely with our management team to learn our system of work, as well as all other duties and challenges they may encounter in the position, before taking up day-to-day responsibilities of their own.

Requirements



Not everybody working in the industry is ready for a Takeaway Management position. To be considered for this position, please have the following in regard to:

Experience: At least 3 years in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities.

Education: Must have at least a Level 2 in Food Safety & Hygiene.

Skills: You must be an excellent communicator, someone who understands how to cohesively and positively organize, motivate, and manage a team of staff in a busy environment. You must also have planning and organizational skills, in order to manage the day-to-day operations of the store effectively.

Characteristics: This is an autonomous position, so you should be self-sufficient and self-motivated in your roles and responsibilities. Honesty, integrity and hard work should be in your DNA. This is a results and performance based role, so you have to be graceful in receiving constructive criticism and feedback on your work.

Responsibilities:



As a Supervisor, you'll meet the stores operational needs as a lead player in a small team. While at the same time learning, and constantly improving as you go. Alongside your hands-on task of providing a consistent and quality service, you'll be responsible for:

Creating

time for senior management to focus on profit-generating or team building tasks, by taking responsibility of daily in store operations.

Leading

by a good example for current and future staff, in areas such as problem solving, communication skills and high quality food production.

Controlling

the compliance to governing rules and regulations when it comes to food safety. Filling out all records, monitoring stock, as well as staffs adherence to these rules.

Learning

the daily practices and culture of the company and improving on it. Working with senior management and ownership to not only gain the ability to manage on your own, but also to be able to pass this knowledge onto others. You will be responsible for facilitating change by bringing your own experiences to the role. Giving regular feedback to senior management, you will be able to bring light to where we can improve our service.

The potential hours for this job role are flexible. It suits both Part time and Full time applicants. We strive to provide a workplace that works around your lifestyle rather than controlling it. The shift times will be a mixture of daytime and evening work. Shift lengths are up to the applicants discretion and can vary from 5 hours up to 12 hours depending on your availability and preference.
