Bristol Community Service Manager

Bristol, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Service Manager to work as part of our team at Bristol Community Carers and Ethnic Inclusion Service.

This is a fixed term contract until 31st January 2026.

Imagine being part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. We believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity - and that's why equity is one of our core values. We draw on the expertise, unique perspectives and lived experience of our people - regardless of who they are or their background - to help us become inclusive and anti-racist employer, campaigning organisation and service provider that reflect the diverse communities we support as a mental health charity.

Our community 'Help When You Need It' support service has been working for over 15 years to help Bristol-based people with mental health issues make a positive difference in their lives. The service works with anybody who has mental health needs, including carers. We support people within the community and work with them to build meaningful connections, find and access groups and activities and support diverse communities to remove barriers and improve access to mental health support and advice. Our support is centred on values of recovery and social inclusion and we have found people that use our service become more independent, confident and resilient. The service uses a person centred approach spending time to identify what you would like to work towards. This involves using different outcomes monitoring tools, such as Dialog +, to explore what the person's needs and what goals they want to focus on.

As a Service Manager you will lead a staff team to ensure that we are delivering high-quality, safe and person-centred support in line with contractual requirements - most importantly delivering great outcomes for people using our services.

You will work closely with commissioners in Bristol City Council and provide data reports on service delivery as per contractual requirements. I am part of the dynamic voluntary sector networks in Bristol, and develop and maintain positive relationships with contacts across the mental health system.

You will support staff development and wellbeing, encouraging colleagues with their own mental health lived experience to thrive in their roles and ensuring the service supports the diverse needs of individual staff members, and the people using the service.

You will support all internal functions such as quality audits, Health and Safety audits, management of finance budgets and internal KPI's.

You will support the team to work across Bristol City Centre using SMART targets ensuring maximum delivery.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion

One way we are doing is through our valued staff networks which play a critical and highly valued role in keeping us focused on creating a diverse, inclusive and engaged employer.

We recognise and support staff networks and support groups for our ethnically diverse and LGBTQIA+ colleagues. We are also proud to have been awarded Disability Confident Employer status

and are a signatory to the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter.
