Responsible for controlling, maintaining, and operating the ship's broadcast facilities, film, and public audio requirements. The role involves delivering high-quality, individualized, and technically excellent entertainment services for guests while adhering to company policies and striving for total guest satisfaction.
Reporting Structure
1. Reporting to the Hotel Director and Cruise Director, with functional reporting to the Chief Electrician.
Safety Duties
1. Participates in crew and passenger safety drills as instructed.
2. Complies with the company's safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
3. Participates in all mandatory training sessions.

Education/Experience/Qualifications
1. Valid STCW95 certification.
2. Technical or electrical degree with experience repairing sound and TV equipment.
3. 2-3 years of experience in broadcast TV programming, with some entertainment technical support experience.
4. Good knowledge of broadcast equipment, Autopatch Matrix, DMX music servers, and AMX control systems.
5. Basic proficiency in editing software, Mac iMovie, Final Cut, HD camcorders, and wireless microphones.
6. Familiarity with entertainment show formats and procedures.
7. Physically and medically fit.
8. High moral integrity.
Language Requirements
Fluent English (verbal and written). English is the working and safety language onboard Mitsui Ocean Cruises vessels. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions verbally and in writing, as well as effectively engage with guests and crew. Japanese is a plus.
Computer Knowledge
1. Basic proficiency in Windows and Mac applications.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Required to stand, walk long distances, and perform repetitive motions such as bending and ascending/descending stairs.
May involve lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operates video cameras, editing suites, and replay equipment.
2. Maintains video and audio programming schedules for guest in-suite entertainment.
3. Ensures satellite and local TV reception for broadcast via the ship's TV system.
4. Handles maintenance and repairs of onboard TVs.
5. Upload movie and program content to TV servers with the help of the IT department.
6. Conducts live broadcasts and records lectures, port talks, cooking demos, and Expedition Programs.
7. Maintains background music servers, ensuring correct music availability on the ship-wide AMX systems, with assistance from the Sound Light Manager (Broadcast Manager on SC only).
8. Collaborates with the Marine Storekeeper to maintain inventory supplies, spare parts, and equipment for the broadcast center, TV, Pager, and PA systems (Broadcast Manager on SC only).
9. Supports the Sound & Light Manager with maintenance and repairs of entertainment technical equipment.
10. Coordinates with the IT Officer & Chief Electrician to ensure proper operation of broadcast systems.
11. Ensures entertainment content is uploaded and returned to vendors as per schedule.
12. Assists guests, crew, and the hotel department with operational issues on in-suite TVs.
13. Maintains and repairs broadcast equipment, including music distribution units.
14. Maintains and repairs the P.A. system in close colaboaration with Chief Electrician.
15. Keep the broadcast center clean and well-organized.
16. Ensures all broadcast equipment is secured when not in use.
17. Maintains telephone, safes, and ship clocks systems in close collaboration with IT Officers and Chief Electrician.
18. Reports daily to the Hotel Director and Chief Electrician regarding any additional work required.
19. Assists with induction and training of new crew.
20. Adjusts schedules and locations independently to accommodate daily operational changes.
21. Incorporates company service standards, personalized service, and sincere hospitality by creating positive guest experiences, engaging efficiently, and anticipating guest needs.
22. Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors.###
