Level 2 (or equivalent) BSL Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Start: ASAP | Full-time or Part-time | Competitive daily rate

We're recruiting a passionate

British Sign Language (BSL)

Teaching Assistant with Level 2 (or equivalent)

to support a primary-aged learner in a mainstream school in the Alfreton area.

This role is perfect for someone who's confident working 1:1 and in a classroom environment, brings patience and creativity to communication, and is ready to make a real impact on a child's access to learning and school life.

What you'll be doing:

Supporting a child with hearing loss using BSL in class and during small group work Encouraging social and emotional development alongside academic progress Helping independence through personalised support Working closely with the SENDCo and teacher

What you'll need:

Level 2 BSL (or above) or equivalent with experience of interacting with the deaf community Experience supporting children (ideally in a school or SEND setting) A positive, patient approach and a genuine passion for SEND inclusion Valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
