Based in Lichfield, Wades are looking to recruit a general builder, with a good knowledge/experience in external construction repairs sector. We are looking for highly skilled, customer focused operatives who will be involved in carrying out Void Work, Repair Work & Maintenance in occupied properties.
Experience in housing maintenance/repair would be desirable.
The successful candidate will be a talented works tradesperson and must have excellent communication skills, outstanding customer service, a right first time approach and an in-depth working knowledge of a variety of housing repair works.
Must be willing to travel within East and West Midlands areas and surrounding areas.
Role and Responsibilities:
Fencing and gate repairs and installation
Flagging, patios, block paving works
Kerbs, channels, edgings
Steps, ramps, walkways, including balustrades, hand rails, etc.
Drainage
Foundations
Excavations
Drives, footpaths
Civils works
Brickwork repair and construction including new build, extensions, walls, pillars, retaining walls, re-pointing, etc.
Structural work including lintels, knocking through, steels, supports, etc.
Carpentry including first and second fix
Demolition works
Schedule works and material requirements
Compile and keep records
To achieve and demonstrate a high level of customer satisfaction
Comply with Health and Safety Procedures and legislation
Ensure a right first time approach
High focus on a clean and safe work environment and the protection of customer property at all times

Qualifications
A minimum 10 years proven experience and a good understanding of in carpentry, brickwork, groundworks, drainage, paving, fencing, structural work is highly desirable. (Ideally hold NVQ in relevant field)
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the construction industry.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site effectively.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
A commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail is essential.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction trades will be an advantage but not essential for time served applicants.
