We are seeking a Builder (Retrofitter) to join our team in the UK. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 2 years experience and expertise in various construction tasks such as masonry, carpentry, and more. Responsibilities:
Structural & Safety Retrofitting
Add steel plates, fibre-reinforced polymers (FRP), or reinforced concrete jackets to increase load capacity.
Deepen or widen the foundation if there's settlement, new extensions, or weak soil conditions.
Apply shotcrete, wire mesh, or FRP sheets to masonry walls to improve strength
Inject epoxy or grout to restore integrity and stop moisture ingress.
Replace damaged trusses, improve insulation, and add waterproof membranes.
Waterproofing & Damp-Proofing
Basement tanking or external membrane systems.
Damp-proof course (DPC) reinstatement in old walls to stop rising damp.
Roof waterproofing: Apply bitumen or polyurethane coatings, or install membrane sheets.
External wall sealing: Use hydrophobic coatings or re-point masonry joints to prevent seepage.
Drainage improvement: Add French drains, surface water channels, or sump pumps.
Electrical & Mechanical Retrofitting
Modernizing the systems hidden behind the walls.
Electrical rewiring: Replace old cables, install MCBs, RCDs, and grounding.
LED lighting and smart switches: Reduce energy use and improve convenience.
Upgrade plumbing: Replace corroded pipes, improve water pressure, and ensure leak-free joints.
Heating and ventilation: Add efficient HVAC systems or underfloor heating.
Install solar panels or solar water heaters.
Energy-Efficiency & Comfort Retrofitting
To reduce energy bills and make the house more sustainable.
Wall and roof insulation: Add thermal insulation boards or spray foam to prevent heat loss.
Double or triple glazing: Replace old single-pane windows.
External shading systems or reflective roofing: To keep interiors cooler.
Smart home systems: Automate lighting, heating, and energy use tracking.
Fire & Safety Retrofitting
Improves safety standards to meet modern codes.
Install smoke and CO? detectors in key areas.
Fire-resistant doors, paints, and claddings.
Emergency lighting and escape route signage (for multi-storey apartments).
Reinforced staircases or balconies if old or rusted.
Accessibility & Usability Upgrades
Enhancing convenience and accessibility, especially for elderly residents.
Install lifts or stairlifts (for multi-floor houses).
Add ramps and handrails.
Widen doorways and reduce floor level differences.
Upgrade bathrooms with anti-slip tiles and grab bars.
Aesthetic & Functional Improvements
Facade renovation: Re-plastering, re-cladding, or painting.
Re-tiling and flooring upgrades.
Kitchen and bathroom modernization.
Replacing doors and windows for both aesthetics and performance.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of proven experience as a construction worker.
Proven experience in construction and building projects.
Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Successful candidate will be offered UK work visa (SOC Code 5319) if required.
