Position Overview



We are seeking two professional, reliable, and highly people-focused Building Concierges/Porters to join our team at a residential estate in London, around the Euston area. The successful candidates will be the first point of contact for residents, visitors and contractors, ensuring the building is safe, well-maintained, and operated to the highest standards.

There are two shifts available, and each successful candidate will be assigned one:

Shift 1: Monday - Friday 3 PM - 11 PM

Shift 2: Friday & Sunday 7 AM - 3 PM

Key Responsibilities



Resident & Visitor Services



Provide a courteous, welcoming, and professional front-of-house experience to all residents, visitors and contractors. Act as an effective communication link between tenants, contractors, visitors and the management company. Ensure only authorised persons gain entry to the building and take prompt action in the event of unauthorised or suspicious access. Book in all visitors and contractors, ensuring names, company, purpose of visit and flat details are accurately recorded. Provide residents and contractors with property regulations and guidelines for any works requiring consent. Attend to flats in emergency situations and provide appropriate support. Handle resident enquiries and complaints promptly and politely, escalating to the Property Manager as required. Maintain updated emergency contact information and ensure new residents are registered correctly before providing services such as key or parcel collection.

Building Operations & Safety



Conduct regular patrols, ensuring entrances, gates, fire exits, boilers, plant rooms, bike stores and communal areas are safe, secure and clean. Carry out inspections of lifts, exposed pipes, boilers, fuel tanks, external areas and roofs, reporting defects or hazards immediately. Ensure fire doors are unobstructed, self-closing devices work correctly, and no rubbish accumulates in corridors or stairways. Initiate urgent call-outs to suppliers or emergency services for issues such as lighting failures, flooding, lift faults or plant problems. Keep accurate maintenance records and building documentation up to date. Notify the Property Manager promptly of anti-social behaviour or suspected unauthorised short-let activity.

Parcel, Key & Document Management



Ensure all parcels are received, logged and signed for by residents upon collection. Ensure delivery companies do not leave parcels unattended in entrance areas. Manage secure key handling procedures. Keep the parcel and key rooms locked whenever leaving the desk. Notify the Property Manager of any post received for management.

Skills & Requir

ements

Experience in a Concierge, Porterage, Front-of-House, Security, Facilities or Building Management role. Excellent spoken and written English, with clear, polite and professional communication skills. Customer service skills with the ability to remain calm, helpful and proactive in demanding situations. Good knowledge of building safety standards and emergency procedures. Ability to complete detailed reports, logs and incident records accurately. Confident in managing access control, contractor bookings and resident interactions. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise. High level of professionalism, integrity and reliability.

Desirable Skills



First Aid, Fire Safety or Health & Safety training

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 13.85 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
