Role Summary:

We are seeking a mid-level Building Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding commercial team. This is a key role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tender submissions, conducting site visits, and supporting the delivery of cost-effective construction and maintenance projects.

The role is based at our Head Office in Wallsend but will require travel to our various project sites and client locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities Evaluate tender documents and manage pricing submissions Conduct site measurements and liaise with project teams to verify scope Track costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams Prepare valuations, final accounts and cost reports Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and commercial risks
Skills & Experience Required:

Previous experience in an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor role (min. 3 years) Understanding of construction methods, regulations and materials Strong numeracy and analytical skills Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications Proficient in MS Excel and estimating software Excellent communication and negotiation skills Full UK driving licence (required)
Qualifications:

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (e.g., BTEC National Certificate or Diploma) Higher qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree) are welcomed but not required for this mid-level role
