Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Projects Manager to oversee the planning and management of the conservation (maintenance, repairs, alterations and facilities) in this fascinating Grade IIlisted building.

Hours:

Part-time, 16 hours a week (Precise working pattern to be negotiated but will include full working day every Tuesday. Some flexibility in working hours is required, including occasional working evenings and weekends)

Salary:

Full time rate is 33,200 per annum, pro-rata for 16 hours is 13,280 a year

Contract:

Permanent with 6 months probation period

Benefits:

25 days of annual leave per year, plus bank holidays - pro rata based on hours worked, Pension (National Employment Savings Trust)

General Manager

The Role



As Building Projects Manager, you will identify and prioritise repair and maintenance requirements, manage the building works budget and agree priorities for funding with colleagues.

Main duties include:

Identify and prioritise all repair and maintenance requirements Manage the building works budget and determine priorities for funding Prepare applications for grants and statutory consents on behalf of the Board Prepare written scope of works and cost/time estimates for proposed work Prepare risk assessments for the conduct of building work Manage external contractors, from tender process to works completion Specify and manage the tasks to be completed by the Building Works Volunteers (exclusively on Tuesdays) Specify the purchase, repair and disposal of tools and materials Ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to Participate in meetings of Directors Deputise for the General Manager in their absence

About You



The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a similar role, e.g. buildings maintenance, Clerk of Works, project management, architecture or surveying and be supportive of the principles of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) Manifesto.

You will have:

Excellent communications skills across all mediums A track record of applying sound judgement to identify issues and solve problems Flexibility and adaptability to day-to-day tasks Experience of working with volunteers, or as a volunteer
You may also have experience in areas such as Facilities Manager, Building and Facilities Manager, Building Project Manager, Project Manager Buildings, Repair, Maintenance, Site Manager, Estates Manager, Volunteer Management, Charity, Heritage.
