Hours:

Full time - 37 hours per week

Pension:

: Grade 9 - 56,572 - 64,556 per annum, depending on experience.

Being a 'Building Safety Operational Risk and Fire Engineering Manager'



Kent Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the pivotal role of leading our Fire Engineering and Risk Information Teams. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the safety of our communities, supporting the Head of Building Safety, and driving forward our statutory and strategic building safety commitments.

What you'll do



As a manager, you will hold direct line management responsibility for:

SM - Risk Information Team Lead (x1) SM - Building Fire Risk Information Lead (x1) Building Consultation Team Lead (x1) Building Safety Project Officer (x1) Senior Fire Risk Coordinator (x1)
The successful candidate will supervise talent bench reviews (TBR), station-based training (SBT), and operational readiness within your teams. You will ensure statutory duties are met under legislation while aligning with wider Building Safety Regulator (BSR) functions.

You will act as a key liaison with the Regional Building Safety Manager, supporting safety throughout the planning, design, and construction of high-rise buildings.

You will take the lead on building safety projects, including management of the Primary Authority Scheme (PAS), Site Specific Risk Information (SSRI), and Response Assessment Visits (RAVs).

What you'll bring



Extensive knowledge and practical application of fire safety legislation and building safety regulations. A proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams in complex safety-critical environments. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels. Strong project management experience, with the ability to deliver results in line with organisational priorities. A passion for driving continuous improvement in building safety and community protection.
