We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded
Account Manager
to manage and grow a portfolio of building services contracts. The role focuses on maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring service delivery meets contractual and compliance requirements, and identifying opportunities for account growth.
This is a client-facing role requiring a solid understanding of building services operations, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Account Management
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients across commercial building services contracts
Build and maintain long-term, trusted client relationships
Lead regular client meetings, service reviews, and performance reporting
Manage client expectations and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Service Delivery & Operations
Ensure contracts are delivered in line with SLAs, KPIs, and statutory compliance
Liaise closely with operations, engineering, and subcontractor teams
Monitor service quality, productivity, and contract performance
Support mobilisation of new contracts and transitions where required
Commercial & Financial Management
Manage contract budgets, margins, and cost control
Identify and deliver opportunities for additional works, variations, and renewals
Support pricing, quoting, and commercial negotiations
Contribute to forecasting and reporting on account performance
Compliance & Health & Safety
Ensure all works are delivered in line with H&S legislation and company procedures
Support audits, compliance checks, and client documentation requirements
Promote a strong safety culture across all sites and teams
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
Proven experience in an Account Manager or Contract Manager role within building services, FM, M&E, or related sectors
Strong understanding of building services delivery (e.g. HVAC, electrical, mechanical, compliance)
Excellent client-facing and communication skills
Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and margins
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts
Desirable
Relevant technical or industry qualifications
Experience working with CAFM or CRM systems
Knowledge of statutory compliance (e.g. gas, electrical, water hygiene, fire systems)
Experience in upselling or account growth
