Acorn Engineering are looking for a

Static

Multiskilled Building Services Engineer

to take ownership of a newly developed facility in Oxford. This is a static role with no other engineers on site, offering autonomy and the potential for future site-based management responsibilities.


You'll be responsible for maintaining a high-spec building, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and general building services. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and have a strong understanding of compliance and building systems.

Salary: up to 45,000 dependant on experience

Responsibilities


--------------------

Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across electrical and mechanical systems. Maintain accurate site records and compliance documentation. Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and future site management to ensure smooth operations. Support development of site procedures and contribute to future call-out planning. Attend site punctually, professionally presented, and in appropriate PPE.

Skills & Qualifications Required

Qualifications & Experience:



Essential:

City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Desirable:

18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Bonus:

Test & Inspection (T&I) certification. Experience in building services maintenance, ideally in a static role. Familiarity with HVAC systems, compliance activities, and CAFM systems.

Multiskilled and confident across electrical and mechanical disciplines. Self-starter with a proactive approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. * Comfortable being the sole engineer on site, with potential to grow into a leadership role.
