Job Purpose



The role will sit within the Surveying Estates Team, working closely alongside the Project Management Team. With increasing growth in our professional surveying workload within the educational, commercial and residential sector, we are looking to expand our small team with an experienced Surveyor to undertake the core building surveying duties, to mentor and support/develop the current team members, to oversee their workload and undertake other such duties to deliver the professional service that Munday & Cramer provide (this may lead into a potential management role for the right candidate).

Responsibilities



To lead on undertaking core building surveying duties, with detailed knowledge of producing condition surveys, specialist defect inspections, asset management plans, RICS Level 2 building survey reports. To produce high level, detailed and accurate survey reporting to determine and advise on the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including advice and option proposals for repair ; maintenance or restoration required for educational new and existing buildings, surveying existing buildings ; advise on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction and the maintenance of buildings with historical or architectural importance / preservation/conservation etc. Develop and expand the Company's professional surveying services. To mentor and develop the current team members and oversee their workload. During peak times, work collaboratively with the Project Management team to assist in undertaking school condition surveys and reports required to support funding opportunities.

Skills and Knowledge Required for this Role



Essential



3-5 years of experience Demonstrate in-depth experience of all aspects in conducting RICS Level 2 building surveying reports and other associated surveys / reports Recognised professional RICS qualification (related Building Surveying) Experience of achieving organisational targets, demonstrating commercial awareness to ensure profitability (evidenced in your CV) The ability to produce accurate and consistent high quality reporting documents which meet client and business requirements Self-motivation to commercially develop this role, with an ability to work on own initiative, meet tight deadlines and balance priorities to achieve results, as well as able to work as part of a team Experience of small or low-level team management (e.g., team leader level / management of junior surveyors) Highly organised with effective time management skills to meet the role's timescales and the ability to perform successfully in a challenging work environment Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with clients, contractors and consultants and working to deadlines, acting with integrity, and maintaining confidentiality Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills DBS Current/ Valid UK Driving License

Desirable



Chartered MRICS Experience of compiling specialist survey reports to support the capital funding bid, working with educational establishments to determine capital refurbishment projects viable for CIF bidding Evidence of key client management Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills Understand potential surveying challenges within an active educational setting
