Building Surveyor / Graduate Building Surveyor - Sustainability and Retrofitting Specialisation
About the Role:
As a Building Surveyor/Graduate Building Surveyor focusing on sustainability and retrofitting existing buildings, you will join our forward-thinking team dedicated to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. This role suits individuals passionate about sustainable building practices and retrofitting looking to make a significant impact in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Sustainability and Retrofitting:
- Evaluate and enhance the sustainability performance of existing buildings.
- Design and manage retrofitting projects for improved energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
- Collaborate with various professionals to ensure sustainable practices in all projects.
Building Surveying:
- Conduct RICS Level 1, 2, and 3 building surveys, providing comprehensive assessments of building conditions.
- Perform Red Book valuations, ensuring compliance with the latest standards.
- Carry out fire risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending preventive measures.
- Conduct thorough dilapidation surveys.
Project Management:
- Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities.
- Oversee project budgets and timelines.
Professional Development:
- Progress towards achieving MCIOB status.
- Pursue Assoc RICS qualification.
- Complete the APC for MRICS accreditation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying or related construction field.
Knowledge of sustainability, retrofitting, and surveying principles.
Familiarity with RICS standards and building regulations.
Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.
