Large Housing Association requires a Building Surveyor to join their Planned Investment team for a 3 month contract.
Responsibilities:
As a Planned Investment Building Surveyor your role will be to manage the delivery of External Cyclical Works and Kitchen and Bathroom renewals.
Your main function will be to ensure that Projects are delivered to the correct Quality, Time and Budget achieving high levels of Customer Satisfaction.
This role is responsible for ensuring that planned programme of work are completed to specifications, to the project deadlines and within the budget estimate, safely and to the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Using the tools provided you will conduct a range of technical surveys pre, during and post works and produce reports on properties on the planned works programmes.
You will be visible and will attend every site at least once a week reporting back on Contractor progress, risks, technical and health and safety issues and any customer feedback.
You will be approachable and build effective relationships with Contractors and Customers ensuring that all complaints and dissatisfaction is investigated and addressed promptly whilst keeping Customers informed of your actions.
You will work with our Consultants and Contractors to ensure that costs are monitored throughout the Project from Estimate to Final Account.
Skills and experience:
Enthusiastic and hands-on individual who is passionate about delivering cyclical maintenance projects.
Existing qualifications, such as an HNC, HND, or a degree in surveying, construction, or for individuals with no formal qualifications but who possess a wealth of practical knowledge in building and construction and health and safety as well as proven experience in project management. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills as well as solid time management skills.
Appropriate surveying qualifications or practical experience in building and construction commensurate with the role.
Knowledge and ability to write detailed technical reports and schedules of work.
Understanding and experience using Contract documents and Employers Requirements.
Experience of project management / programmes of works.
Customer focused mindset and excellent communication skills.
Good IT skills - All MS Applications, Viewpoint, Fieldview
Full UK Driving Licence
Member of RICS or CIOB desirable
Degree in Building Surveying or Construction Management
