Overview

Are you a Building Surveyor with 1+ years' experience looking to progress your career within a friendly, ambitious and supportive Chartered Surveying practice?

Brittain Hadley is a progressive, Surbiton-based firm offering a wide range of surveying services to both residential and commercial clients -- from defects surveys to managing major works contracts.

We're looking for a motivated Building Surveyor to join our growing team. You'll work on a varied portfolio of projects, supporting senior surveyors and taking responsibility for your own instructions, gaining exposure across the full spectrum of building surveying.

What you'll be doing

You'll carry out a broad mix of work, working to both support senior surveyors and running your own projects, including:

Pre-purchase residential surveys Party Wall etc. Act matters Writing specifications of works for repairs and maintenance Tendering and analysis Contract Administration for major and minor works, including inspections, site reports and payment certification Defects surveys and building pathology (e.g. damp, roof defects) Preparing Planned Maintenance Programmes and CAPEX schedules Licences to Alter Assisting with day-to-day office duties and client enquiries
You'll spend most of your time on-site or in the office with the flexibility to occasionally work from home when coordinated around team needs.

About you

You'll have a degree in Building Surveying and at least one year of experience in a surveying practice. You'll bring:

Solid technical knowledge of construction and building pathology Strong report-writing and client communication skills An organised, proactive and client-focused approach Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively in a small team A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck in
