Building Systems Technician



Based in Staffordshire.



Salary negotiable dependant on experience



26 days holidays (plus bank holidays)



The Benx Group of companies, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialist building materials, is seeking to appoint a Building System Technician to join our Technical Services department based in Stoke-on-Trent. The main purpose of this role is to provide structured technical support for projects, assisting with system detailing, documentation, and compliance checks within defined technical parameters across our product range.

Key responsibilities include;



Support the development of technical solutions by preparing details, technical notes, and structured responses under guidance from senior technical staff

Produce and update CAD details and coordinated drawing packs, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and alignment with approved system designs

Provide clear and timely technical support to customers and project teams, escalating complex issues where required

Prepare calculations (U-value, wind loading, thermal analysis) and system documentation for approval

Produce accurate project packs, specifications, and technical documentation across all products & systems

Support major projects, liaising with customers, Regional Sales Managers, and site teams while maintaining clear boundaries around technical advice and system limitations

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful project outcomes and balanced workloads

Assist with product testing, accreditation, and quality documentation including data management, test evidence collation, and preparation of controlled documents

Manage technical data, drawings, and project records using company systems ensuring version control and traceability in line with internal procedures

Contribute to continuous improvement by helping review details, documentation, and feedback from projects

Develop growing expertise in designated products, becoming a knowledgeable internal point of contact while complex issues remain with senior technical staff

Maintain awareness of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., CWCT, EN standards, BSA-related requirements) and apply them within defined guidance

Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the Technical Services team and represent the company professionally

Experience/knowledge required;



Practical technical understanding of construction or facade-related systems (training provided in areas such as building boards, cladding, EWI/ETICS, and rainscreen facades)

Awareness of building materials and compliance requirements, with willingness to learn key facade-specific standards and processes

Experience collaborating with architects, contractors, and project teams

Proficient IT skills, with excellent communication and customer service abilities

Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure

Strong problem-solving, numeracy and literacy skills including the ability to identify missing information and communicate technical limitations clearly

Qualifications and Core skills;



HNC/HND or equivalent in Construction, Architecture, or a related field

Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; CAD knowledge advantageous)

Good understanding of building practices and ability to interpret architectural drawings

Excellent attention to detail, communication, and administrative skills

Strong customer focus and interpersonal ability

Pay: 35,000.00-45,000.00 per year
