Within our ClearDebit division, we operate one of the UK's trusted Direct Debit Bureaus -- and we're now looking for a skilled Bureau Manager to lead our high-performing operations team.



This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Direct Debit specialist to take ownership of end-to-end bureau operations, drive process excellence, and shape the future of our service offering. What You'll Do






Lead day-to-day Direct Debit and Direct Credit processing in full compliance with Bacs scheme rules Oversee all bureau reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities Act as the primary contact for bureau clients, providing expert support and issue resolution Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client onboarding and service enhancements Build strong customer relationships and support commercial discussions where needed Maintain robust risk, assurance, and audit controls (including PKI & ASM management) Train and develop the bureau team, ensuring exceptional operational standards Support administrative operations and assist with bureau-related sales/marketing activity



What You'll Bring






Strong experience in Direct Debit processing and Bacs scheme compliance Excellent customer service and client-relationship management skills Proven experience improving operational processes and documentation Commercial understanding of service reviews, pricing, and contracts Strong technical capability with bureau systems, CRM and secure file transfer (e.g., SFTP) Solid grasp of Payment Services Regulations, risk, assurance, and audit requirements Confident problem-solver with the ability to handle escalations and complex issues Experience leading, developing, and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment Highly organised, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities Clear, professional communication skills -- written and verbal
