Get behind the wheel of a beautiful vintage 1960s Routemaster - Join our team of drivers and become part of the UK's most exciting and dynamic bus tour company!
We're looking for confident, punctual and reliable drivers with high level of experience in driving public service vehicles such as buses and coaches, to operate our iconic 1960s Routemaster Necrobus through the streets of haunted York as part of our immersive comedy-horror theatre tour, as well as a strong, professional communicator with great knowledge of York City.
Requirements:
- Valid PCV licence with Driver CPC
- UK driver's license
- Availability into the evenings and some weekends as the tours run in the evening however the work runs from earlier in day.
- Good time keeping
- Flexibility of schedule
- Experience with vintage or heritage buses a plus
- Friendly, professional attitude
- Comfortable working in a theatrical, guest-facing environment
Experience in the following areas is desired but not essential:
- Having previously worked with Routemaster buses
- An interest and love for historic vehicles
Responsibilities:
- Operate buses safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and proper maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers and addressing their needs.
- Maintain clear communication on shift and other team members regarding schedules and any issues.
- Work closely with actors and crew to deliver a smooth performance
- Keep accurate records of mileage, and any incidents during driving.
- Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the bus interior and exterior.
- Ensure passenger safety and a memorable experience every time
