Job Description

Blackburn college have partnered with silicone engineering to bring an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to expand their knowledge and skills in logistics.

Job Purpose Summary:



Arrange export / shipping, by completing documentation correctly ensuring all export documentation meets export regulations.



Learn and develop basic quality and best practice manufacturing principles and provide administrative support to manufacturing processes.



Provide cover for purchasing functions including, raising PO's, following up outstanding orders, and requesting price quotations as required.



Adhere to all company processes and procedures.



Communicate internally and externally with commercial/sales to provide excellent logistical support.



Undertake a Level 3 business Admin Apprenticeship Qualification at Blackburn College.



Key Performance Indicators



Achieve targeted delivery performance percentage on time to the customers

Keep the number of complaints below the ceiling number per year.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities



Organisational Duties:

Arrange shipments of export orders with completion of correct export documentation.

Liaise with export commercial coordinators to organise all shipments. Provide effective cover for critical purchasing functions to allow manufacturing process to flow without interruptions.

Use systems including Access to update information held on relevant systems. Arrange details of shipments with forwarders, carriers as necessary for exports. Assist the dispatch team in packing and preparing shipments for daily collections. Raise PO's and follow up outstanding orders with suppliers as backup.

Functional Duties:

Adhere to Health & Safety policy and other requirements relating to the care of equipment/personnel. Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills and work within company procedures and policies at all times. Perform other duties which may arise and be allocated by the Logistics and Purchasing Manager and/or the Operations Director to ensure the efficient running of the department. Adhere to Health and Safety, export law, company policies and relevant legislation to meet company, industry and legal standards and expectations.
Weekly working hours - contracted, start and finish times are:

8:15 am to 17:00 pm Monday -Thursday, 8:00 am - 12:30 pm Friday

Qualifications/ personal qualities and skills



GCSE Mathematics grade 4-9/C-A
GSCE English grade 4-9/C-A
confident on Excel Good communication skills strong positive mindset Good time management previous experience in logistics (desirable).

Pay: 7.55 per hour

U.K. BB1 3HU: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
