We have an fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to move into a Business Administration apprenticeship specifically within construction. The apprentice would be based within the site office of a Building services contractor engaged in a redevelopent site in the heart of Cambridge. This provides a fantastic opportunity to see the construction industry from a different side whilst receiving training leading to a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification as a Business Administrator.
What will the role include?
General administrative support for the onsite team such as printing, photocopying, archiving, communications both internal and external
Filing and managing Health & Safety documents/ design information/project documents
Document control
Raising requisitions
Completing local spend reports
Managing the receipt of drawings and keeping A3/A1 printed drawings up to date
Supporting the process of having visitors on site from colleagues to clients
Keeping cabin notice boards updated with key communications
Ensuring photocopiers are filled with paper and change toner cartridges (including maintenance and ordering consumables)
Ordering stationery and consumables for site cabins
Ordering Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
Maintaining stock levels within the site offices
Setting up and taking minutes at meetings
Scanning and uploading delivery tickets
Providing excellent customer service
Maintaining electronic information
Dealing with enquiries
Receipting goods
What does the ideal candidate look like?
We're looking for an efficient individual with good communication skills and initiative
The apprentice will enjoy working both in a team and independently, learn quickly and prioritise their workload
The apprentice will have a willingness to learn new skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing business environment.
They will also need to be someone who understands the importance of accuracy in administration and who has clear verbal and written communication skills
Be aged 18+ due to working hours
Be computer literate
Have a can-do attitude
Have self-motivation and ability to multi-task
Have the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Have attention to detail
What training will they receive and how?
The apprentice will work towards a Level 3 Business Administration qualification
They will receive regular remote led tutor led sessions and be be given the equivalent of 6 hours a week to carry out assignment work and other off the job learning
