15,900 pro rata per annum based on a 0.6 FTE (26,500 FTE)
Role Description
The Business Administrator will play a key role in supporting the BMC's governance and safeguarding functions.
Working closely with the Governance & Compliance Manager, the post holder will help ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Board of Directors, Members' Council, and Specialist Committees by co-ordinating meetings, managing documentation and producing minutes within an agreed timescale.
In addition, the Business Administrator will provide essential administrative and logistical support to the Safeguarding Manager. This includes processing DBS checks and co-ordinating the scheduling and organisation of safeguarding training courses to ensure all requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner.
The position also provides administrative support for the BMC's voluntary Chair and President as well as the wider organisation and its subsidiaries.
The BMC is looking for someone with a strong administrative background, with good attention to detail and who is comfortable taking minutes. They will also need to be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Specific Work Areas
Provide administrative support for committee meetings, such as co-ordination of meetings, the production of accurate minutes and the production of annual governance reporting documents.
Provide logistical and administrative support in the planning of governance events including General Meetings and Specialist Committee Reviews.
Provide minute taking support for the Finance & Audit Committee and Safeguarding Group.
Support the maintenance of the Register of Interests of Board, Council and employees.
Support the Safeguarding Manager with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in accordance with BMC procedures, including performing ID checks for BMC staff, volunteers and members.
Co-ordinate safeguarding training logistics, including scheduling courses, managing attendance, and maintaining records, with support from the Safeguarding Manager.
Maintain accurate records and manage confidential information with discretion.
Provide administrative support for the BMC President and Chair of the Board where necessary, including travel and accommodation bookings.
Support the Governance & Compliance Manager with the BMC complaints processes.
Monitor the safeguarding shared email inbox and actioning emails as appropriate, always ensuring that emails are acknowledged and followed up.
Provide general office support with regards to ordering office stationery and office supplies.
Any other such work the organisation may ask you to undertake from time to time.
