The Business Analyst (BA) plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of IT and business change initiatives across Gateley. Operating within a dynamic portfolio of over 50 active concurrent projects and programmes the BA contributes to initiatives with significant strategic and financial value. aimed at enhancing client service, driving company growth and increasing profitability towards the businesses North Start target.
The role involves eliciting, analysing, and documenting business requirements, with a strong emphasis on identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation. Gateley employs a hybrid delivery methodology, with a growing emphasis on iterative and agile practices. The BA is expected to work across multiple projects simultaneously, including regulatory, technology-led, and process improvement initiatives, while also contributing to continuous improvement activity.
A key focus of the role is participation in the Discovery phase of the delivery lifecycle--engaging with stakeholders to understand business challenges, expectations, and potential solution options. The BA works closely with stakeholders across the business, development teams, and support functions to ensure that both strategic and operational changes are well understood, well scoped, and successfully implemented.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops to elicit, challenge, and document business requirements for new projects and programmes ensuring a focus on business benefit and value.
Document and maintain As-Is and To-Be process maps to support analysis, solution design, and change implementation--ensuring clarity in current operations and alignment with future-state objectives
Conduct cost-benefit analysis and Return on Investment (ROI) assessments at key stages of the project lifecycle--before initiation, during delivery, and post-implementation--to support informed decision-making, prioritisation, and evaluation of business value
Creation of prototypes or mock-ups to support solution design and stakeholder engagement, helping to validate requirements and explore user experience options prior to development.
Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories that support solution identification and implementation.
Support the creation and execution of test plans, including defining acceptance criteria and participating in UAT.
Analysing defects, bugs and feedback obtained through the Quality Assurance process
Delivering business readiness activities by supporting on and producing training guides, communications and engagement with internal support teams.
Produce high-quality documentation including business process flows, functional specifications, and user guides.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, development teams, third-party vendors, and clients to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring language and detail appropriately.
Utilise tools such as Visio and DevOps to support analysis, documentation, and collaboration.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Business Analysis function that seek to improve collaboration with the business, internal support teams and enhance ways of working.
Collaborating with Project Managers, Developers, and Quality Assurance to ensure successful delivery.
Manage continuous improvement activities from idea through to inceptions, directly engaging with both internal and external stakeholders with a view to increasing efficiencies across the business and removing business challenges and pain points.
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, pro-active prioritisation, management and planning of own diary and ensuring work is completed to approved deadlines.
Identification, ownership and management of project and programme risks, identifying and implementing mitigating actions to reduce and remove the impact of risks.

The role will have an internal reach needing to liaise both with C suite stakeholders and their departments and delivery teams as well as liaising externally with large technology providers.

Stakeholder Engagement
The Business Analyst will engage with a range of third-party vendors and service providers alongside internal stakeholders including operational teams, project sponsors, and subject matter experts.
The role requires the ability to take stakeholders through the phases of project delivery to put them at the heart of the delivery. The candidate will have the ability to manage expectations, influence outcomes and resolve conflicts to ensure the stakeholder needs are central to delivering the business initiatives.
Tools and Methodologies
Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models is expected. The Business Analyst should be proficient in using tools such as Microsoft Visio, DevOps and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of business process modelling techniques (e.g., BPMN) and requirements prioritisation methods (e.g., MoSCoW) is mandatory.
