Role Overview



We are seeking an experienced

Business Analyst with mandatory Water Utility sector experience

to support transformational business change initiatives. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, document, and validate requirements in line with established standards and methodologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and the ability to deeply understand business processes and operating models to drive effective and sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities



Lead business analysis activities across multiple change initiatives, producing clear and comprehensive requirement specifications for IT-enabled solutions (custom software, third-party products, and cloud-based systems). Translate business needs into structured requirements, including user interface designs, data models, business process changes, and integration/interface specifications. Apply the full Requirements Engineering lifecycle--elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation, and traceability of requirements. Use appropriate elicitation techniques such as stakeholder interviews, workshops, observations, and surveys to capture detailed and accurate requirements. Develop AS-IS and TO-BEbusiness process models using defined standards; perform gap analysis to identify required transition activities. Manage stakeholder communication and expectations at all organisational levels. Ensure User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is planned and executed for all deliverables, providing support throughout testing activities. Support the delivery of solutions that meet business needs and align with operational and strategic objectives.

Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning skills. Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at various levels. Understanding of application technologies and how they can be leveraged for business benefit. Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workload, and perform effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Proactive, self-driven, and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Creative thinker with the ability to approach problems from different angles. Desirable Skills & Experience



Previous experience within the

water or wastewater

sectors, or broader

utilities

environments. Experience working on legacy platform replacement projects or data migration initiatives. Professional qualifications in Business Analysis (e.g., BCS Business Analysis certifications, Lean Six Sigma). Professional qualifications in Agile methodologies, ideally Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 65,000.00-70,000.00 per year
