Job Description

DB Cargo UK is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to join our Digitalisation Projects Team on a 6-month fixed term contract based at our Head Office in Doncaster. We are offering a salary up to 50,000, depending on experience based on a 37 hour per week contract. Join us as we drive digital transformation across the UK's leading rail freight operator.


You will be the link between our business teams and our delivery specialists - shaping ideas, gathering requirements, and defining what success looks like across a range of IT and process-improvement projects.

What will you be doing?

Lead the analysis and documentation of project requirements - turning business goals into actionable user stories, workflows, mock-ups, and specifications.


Collaborate with stakeholders across the business, development, testing, architecture, and project management teams.


Produce clear, structured documentation to support each stage of the project lifecycle.


Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure deliverables meet agreed outcomes.


Manage and prioritise the product backlog, structuring requirements into e-pics, features, and stores in our requirement-management system.

What are we looking for?

Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering IT and software-based projects.


A track record in process improvement, automation, and optimisation.


Confident using Visio, MS Office, and requirement-tracking tools.


Strong communicator, skilled at translating technical detail into business language.


Familiar with Agile methodologies and collaborative ways of working.
